Another great thing about shopping in Bangkok is that there are many places you can shop until late at night, at least 9pm onwards. Also, you can benefit from the incredible bargains. Here’s a list of some cool markets in the moonlight.

Khao San road

A lot of foreigners usually go there for drinks and supper. Shopping is also available but mostly for backpackers (or beach lovers); t-shirts, sandals, shorts, trainers, fisherman’s pants, sunglasses, bikinis, accessories and more. However, you’d probably need only half an hour to tour around that place. Do take note that the traffic nearby that area might give you a headache. I think it’d be more fun to go with a big group rather than a few of you.

Opening hours: 19:00 until late (everyday)

Saphan Phut Night Market

Along the Rattankosin side of the river, is packed with men and women apparels such as shirts, dresses, sneakers, jeans, accessories, and entertainment items like DVD’s, CD’s, video games and more. This place is popular amongst local teen shoppers as the prices are amazingly cheap. Do take note that you shouldn’t be wearing any value items (or jewelry) to avoid unwanted incident in that areas. Ladies, try not to wear something way too sexy.

Opening hours: 20:00 until midnight (closed on Wednesday)

Major Ratchayothin Market

This is my most favorite of all. Most items are womenswear and trendy. There are quite a lot of dresses, casual wears, heels, bags and more. Another good thing is, you can either catch a movie, go bowling or have supper at the shopping center right next to the market called ‘Major Cineplex Ratchayothin’. This market is pretty much like another Siam Square.

Opening hours: 18:00 – 23:00 (closed on Monday)

Train Market Chatuchak

It’s all about secondhand, vintage, and rare items. This market is huge and divided into 2 zones; front and back. Most items are already amazingly cheap so try not to bargain. It is newly opened and not many people know about it. Make sure your taxi driver knows where it’s located or you can just copy this in thai “ตลาดนัดรถไฟตรงข้ามทางด่วน อ.ต.ก, ถ.กำแพงเพชร”, and show him.

Opening hours: 18:00 – 23:00 (open on weekends only)
