-Continue- We took one day to cover most interesting places in Rome and. And did I mention that the weather to me was terribly hot? But it didn’t matter because I enjoyed myself. A water bottle and a map helped a lot too.
There is so much to observe, absorb and experience in Rome. So, here’s more places we went in late afternoon.
Colosseum – Anfiteatro Flavio
The greatest invention of the Romans and still the main landmark of the Eternal City. It was built about 1920 years ago by the Flavian emperors. We paid 12 Euro each for express entry.
A Roman temple dedicated to all the gods of pagan Rome, and the most influential building of ancient Rome. Below is my most favourite shot in Rome.
Outside the temple.
I was not very excited to go there at first but it ended up being one of my favorite places in Rome. You will like this place if you like seeing old ruins. If you don’t then you probably shouldn’t visit this attraction. I could spend hours here imagining what it used to look like.
Definitely a place for photography.
After a long walk (6-7 hours), we went back to hotel, The Westin Excelsior, to freshen up and get ready for our first dinner in Rome.
Dinner was at The Mirabelle, a refined restaurant in central rome. It located at 7 th floor of the Hotel Splendide Royal in the Via Veneto (10 minutes walk from The Westin hotel). This restaurant has a great view, good food, and professional services.
My day ended with a nice romantic dinner just like that.
It could be tough to finish up a list of all the random positive things about Rome: history, culture, Romans, architecture, ancient ruins, art, sculpture, shopping, cuisine and etc. But you know what is the sweetest thing about Rome? It’s simply just being in Rome, and even better with your loved one.
Guess what’s the next city? Be back soon with more beautiful shots.
