Thailand Flood Crisis

In the last fifty years, Thailand is now facing the heaviest floods in many districts which have already claimed 300 lives and severe damages. I have never seen flooding like this before. When I was in Bangkok last month, I saw and heard so much news about this. A lot of people are now homeless due to the floods and many of them resort to staying on the roof of their destroyed homes.

Some rumors are claiming that these floods are caused by the release of water from the dams due to the suspiciously plenty of fresh clean water that’s flooding. Some have mentioned that there hasn’t been any rain on some particular days yet the water level rose. Even if these damages are actually for political gains like the rumors are claiming, the safety of the people should be put before any political motive. Please feel free to share your opinions on this matter.

Some time back the people of Thailand were divided because of the elections. Half were Red Shirts, the other were Yellow. Basically, the Yellow and Red were enemies fighting throughout the whole elections. I guess one good thing that actually came out of floods, is now the people are brought back together once again.

I really hope things will get better soon. I pray that flooding can be contained and resolved as soon as possible without anymore people suffering.

Love. – nira
